The Celtic Robot manuscript.

  1. Hey,

Let me start by saying this is awesome!! It was so clever and I felt it really incorporated detail that we talked about in class like the accents of gold, spirals, and knotwork, while also being autobiographical. The use of the knotwork as representative gears was great. It is clear a lot of effort was put into this piece.

  2. I love that you stepped out of the box and took your own twist on this project, but it's still very reminiscent of the of the manuscripts we discussed in class. You did a great job of integrating elements like zoomorphic forms and knots into the robotic gears. I like that you used a limited color scheme like the Book of Durrow. I know you had said you weren't a big fan of the gold, but I think it adds a lot to the image and makes it stand out from the other colors. Great work!

  3. The colors used are great, especially the use of gold paint. I think it really helps to show a good representation of an example of the Book of Kells just because of the color palette, the knot work, and the spirals. Although, at the same time, it is very unique to you and the concept that you were trying to establish, great job!

  4. This was a clever and unique way to take the project and transform it into something that really speaks to your character and the type of design you enjoy creating. You really took the idea of this project to the next level. The gold paint is really a good addition to the color palette and reflects the mechanical/metal gear concept you were trying to get across. The knotwork fits very well as substitutes for actual gears. The lacertine of the mechanical snake is really well done.
